Dr. Lauren Russell, ND

Naturopathic Doctor · Certified in Intuitive Eating

I used to equate health with calorie deficits, restriction, and pushing harder. For years, that approach shaped my relationship with food, movement, and myself. It wasn't sustainable, and it wasn't health.

Walking away from that mindset changed everything. It changed how I eat, how I move, and eventually, how I practice medicine. I became a naturopathic doctor because I wanted to be the provider I wished I'd had. Someone who listens, who digs into what's actually going on, and who doesn't make your body the problem.

I wanted to be the provider I wished I'd had.

That's the care I offer. It's thorough, it's grounded in research, and it meets you where you are. Whether you're dealing with hormones, gut issues, fertility, or a kid who needs support, you'll get my full attention for every appointment.

Dr. Lauren Russell ND, certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor at Summit Sports & Health in Saskatoon

Why I Dig Deeper

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis while I was in naturopathic medical school. Not by my family doctor. By an ND, because I was exhausted all the time and nobody had looked into why.

That experience shapes everything about how I practice. I know what it's like to have symptoms dismissed, to be told you're fine when you know something's off, to sit across from a provider who doesn't have time to listen. I dug deeper for myself, and now I dig deeper for every patient who walks through my door.

The standard 10-minute appointment doesn't work for complex health. That's why your first visit with me is 75 minutes. I ask a lot of questions. I order the right labs. And I build a plan that actually makes sense for your life, not a protocol pulled off a shelf.

Areas of Focus

What I Work With

I work primarily with hormones, PCOS, fertility, digestive health, and children's health, and bring an anti-diet, Intuitive Eating lens to all of it.

Hormones & Thyroid

PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, menopause, Hashimoto's, and thyroid conditions. Targeted lab work and individualized support.

PCOS

Insulin resistance, inflammation, and hormone patterns. An individualized plan that doesn't start with "just lose weight."

Fertility & Preconception

Comprehensive evaluation, preconception optimization, and naturopathic support for natural cycles, IUI, and IVF.

Digestive Health

IBS, SIBO, reflux, bloating, and food sensitivities. Figuring out what's driving it, not handing you a list of foods to avoid forever.

Mental Health Support

Evidence-informed naturopathic support for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Your brain is part of your body.

Children's Health

Eczema, allergies, constipation, sleep, anxiety, and immune support. Gentle, realistic, and built for families.

How I Practice

Weight-Neutral, Size-Inclusive Care

This isn't a niche add-on. It's woven into every appointment, every treatment plan, every conversation.

Intuitive Eating

Trained and certified in the Intuitive Eating framework. Your relationship with food matters, and it's not something I'll try to fix with a meal plan.

HAES-Aligned

Health at Every Size means no weigh-ins as a measure of progress. Your health is about how you feel, how your body functions, and your relationship with yourself.

No Restrictive Diets

No calorie counting. No food fear. No treating your weight as the problem to solve. If you've been dismissed because of your body size, this is different.

Everyone's Welcome

Whether you're actively working on your relationship with food or you've never thought about it, this approach means you get care without judgment.
