Naturopathic Medicine.

Naturopathic medicine is evidence-based healthcare that integrates the wisdom of natural medicines and current research into resilient and preventative medicine. Naturopathic medicine treats the whole person by addressing the cause of your symptoms, working to remove obstacles to health, and using the most natural options possible to shift toward healing.

Naturopathic medicine is a board-certified regulated health profession. Becoming a naturopathic doctor requires 4-years post-graduate studies at an accredited naturopathic medical school. In addition to studying the sciences of anatomy, pathophysiology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology, naturopathic doctors are clinically trained in nutrition, botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, counselling, spinal manipulations, IV and injection therapies. That’s a mouthful! Naturopathic medicine frequently treats conditions including: colds & flus, digestive issues, skin rashes, hormonal imbalances (such as PMS, PCOS, menopause), anxiety & depression, fatigue, joint pain, headaches, and autoimmune diseases.

Naturopathic Principles.

This is what guides my practice.

The Healing Power of Nature Vis Medicatrix Naturae

A deep reverence and respect for nature and the body’s innate wisdom and intelligence to heal.

Doctor as Teacher Docere

Doctor comes from the latin word docere, meaning “to teach.” Sharing information is empowering and leads to a more collaborative approach to medicine.

Identify and Treat the Cause Tolle Causam

Naturopathic doctors treat the underlying causes of your concerns by identifying & removing obstacles to health and recovery.

Treat the Whole Person Tolle Totum

Health and disease results from a complex of physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and other factors. Healing involves all of who we are.

Do No Harm Primum Non Nocere

Applying therapies using the least invasive options possible to restore health. Higher level interventions used only when necessary.

Prevention Preventare

Naturopathic medicine emphasizes optimal wellness, resiliency, and the prevention of disease.
